THE STRUGGLE IS REAL

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)

Church it is time to wake up and realize that we are under attack from the devil and his demonic forces! I remember, as though it was yesterday, standing in a General Motors office building, in Grand Blanc, Michigan, when the first plane hit the World Trade Center in September 2001. At first, the news commentators thought it was an isolated accident. When another plane hit the same building shortly thereafter, we knew then that New York was under attack.

Every day our world is invaded by what we consider random or accidental events. People get in car crashes, so we call them “accidents”; Couples divorce, so we develop marriage guidance; drug use increases, so we educate our children to "just say no"; churches are hijacked by outsiders, so we increase security; Christians battle depression, so we start in church counseling ministries. Please don’t get it twisted, I am up for all these strategies and programs, but what if the source of these attacks is more than random or accidental events and we're really under the attack of the enemy?  What if, behind the scene of all these “random events or accidents”, the devil is really trying “… to steal, and to kill, and to destroy….” John 10:10?  If you knew that, would you want to have a strategy in place that is guaranteed to work?

Those who seriously study the Scriptures know that we as Christians are in a spiritual warfare.  It is an unseen world-wide spiritual war going on. Paul writes: "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against...spiritual forces of wickedness." Whether you realize it or not, every one of us are living in the crossfire of this spiritual war...the enemy's determined to destroy everything and everyone important to you.

Martin Lloyd Jones said, “Not to realize you're in a conflict, means you're so hopelessly defeated and you don't even know it. We're in a very real war, the stakes are high, the enemy skilled, armed, and determined. The possibility of losing...is real. You must be aware of what's happening and be prepared to fight.”  So please join us during the Hour of Power Bible Study and get equipped! The struggle is real.
